In this module, we will focus on what happens after a child has received an eye exam and a prescription for vision correction. Your role doesn't end with the screening and eye exam referral, so it’s important to understand how to support children and their families through the next steps of their vision treatment journey.
Objectives
Once you’ve completed this course, you will be able to:
- Describe the screener’s role in supporting a child's vision treatment program, including accommodations, modifications, and collaboration with eye care professionals
- Explain the importance of sharing eye exam results with teachers and pediatric primary care providers
- Describe strategies to help ensure children wear their glasses
